How do you like your hot chocolate? With marshmallows or without? Topped with candy canes, coconut, or hot chili powder? Around a cozy campfire or listening to live music? Ashokan Center’s annual Hot Chocolate Fest has it all and more. Come with the whole family or with some friends. Start with a self-guided nature walk on our miles of beautiful groomed trails and work up an appetite while trying your hand at identifying animal tracks and the many birds that call our woods their winter home. Choose two of any of our six flavors of hot chocolate along with a hot breakfast sandwich or cup of our famous Ashokan chili (gluten-free sandwiches and vegan chili options available.) Eat and drink around one of our campfires and listen to live music from Jay Ungar, Molly Mason and others TBA. The fun doesn’t end there! Thomas Brown, professional ice sculptor, will be on hand creating an ephemeral new sculpture just for us. If there is snow on the ground, bring your sleds for fun on Hoot Hill. And join us for a blacksmithing demonstration where (for an additional fee) you can have the opportunity to make your own project. Come get out of isolation. All activities are scheduled outdoors with the exception of blacksmithing. Thank you for helping us safely gather as a community by practicing social distancing and wearing face coverings when near others. Please bring your own blankets, lawn chairs, and dress for the weather. Sorry, but dogs and other pets are not allowed on site.
