In a trio of monologues for voice and piano, contemporary American composer Thomas Pasatieri gives us three of Shakespeare's most notable women-Juliet, Lady Macbeth, and Desdemona. Each monologue realizes the drama of the play seen, as the composer puts it, "through the eyes and words of one person." Lauren Flanigan's touching soprano voice graces the festival stage for the third time, joined by the composer himself at the piano.
