Cole Porter's Kiss Me Kate

One of the great classics of the American musical stage, Kiss Me, Kate premiered in 1948 and has been regularly revised ever since. A play-within-a-play about a group of actors staging Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew, filled with plot twists, gorgeous melodies, and brilliant lyrics, the show won the first ever Tony award for Best Musical and set a standard rarely equaled and never surpassed. This "perfect achievement of American musical theatre"  features a cast of Broadway, Metropolitan Opera and New York City Opera veterans, including Susan Powell (2015's A Little Night Music), Richard White,  John Viscari, Jennifer De Dominici, and  favorites Kevin Glavin (2014's The Barber of Seville) and Anthony  Laciura (HBO) also return to the festival stage as lovable gangsters. The legendary Lee Roy Reams directs, and the incomparable Maestro Gerald Steichen wields the baton.
